All of our fire suppression personnel are certified to the California State Firefighter II level and are actively involved in the California Incident Command Certification Program. They are consistently trained throughout their employment to ensure all skills are maintained at the highest level possible. In addition, many of our fire suppression personnel maintainParamedic certification allowing them to perform advanced life support (the ability to monitor the heart, establish intravenous lines and administer medications/drugs in a pre-hospital setting), on non-transport paramedic engine companies. At Woodside Fire Protection District, we pride ourselves on providing the latest technology and training in the fire suppression arena to our customers.
The Training Division coordinates all local, state and federally mandated training programs for safety personnel, as well as programs designed to teach new technologies and methodologies. Each year, approximately 37,700 training hours are logged in the areas of Emergency Medical Services, Fire Prevention, Emergency Vehicle Operations, Emergency Scene Operations, Technical Rescue, Incident Command System and many other categories.
