Employment Application

We appreciate your interest in the Woodside Fire Protection District.

We are currently accepting applications in our Fire Prevention Bureau

Fire Inspector I and or Fire Inspector II Plans Examiner

Fire Prevention Inspector I--This is the entry level class in the Fire Prevention Inspection series. This class is distinguished from the Fire Prevention Inspector II/Plans Review by the performance of the more routine tasks and duties assigned to positions within the series including weed abatement and smoke detector inspections, which do not require prior specialized experience. Generally, work is observed and reviewed both during performance and upon completion, and changes in procedures and exceptions to rules are explained in detail as they arise. Since this class is typically used as a training class, employees may have only limited or no directly related work experience.

Fire Prevention Inspector II/Plans Examiner--This is the journey level class within the Fire Prevention Inspector series. Employees within this class are distinguished from the Fire Prevention Inspector I by the performance of the full range of fire prevention inspection duties and plans review. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and are normally filled by advancement from the lower class of Fire Prevention Inspector I, or when filled from the outside, require substantial prior fire prevention inspection experience.

All applications submitted on CalOpps, https://www.calopps.org/ will be reviewed and all qualified candidates will be contacted to interview for the position. Please attach a copy of your resume with your CalOpps application.
