Woodside Fire Protection District offers and exceptional cadet program for individuals interested in a career in the fire service. Cadets gain hands on experience participating in training and public service events. Cadets work 24-hour shifts and ride-along on emergency calls.

Cadets must be enrolled in the CO-Operative Education Program at the College of San Mateo. They must also meet monthly hour requirements and attend monthly training drills. The cadet term begins in August and is twelve months in length.

Minimum qualifications are: must be 18 years old, successful completion of an EMT course and Firefighter 1 at the beginning of the term, as well as have a valid California Driver’s License.
